Well, the summer heat has kept us indoors a lot of the time but there are occasions where we jump in the pool, kiddie pool that is. School starts in less than five weeks and I can't wait. It's hard getting anything done around here with three kids, two of which are constantly driving me nuts.

Summer's here
It's been two months since my last post and I can't believe how time fly's when you're having fun. Since my last blog the kids have had their field day, end of the year field trips and awards day. Chase was on the A honor roll for the year and Skylar was on the A B honor roll for the year and they both took home the Perfect Attendance award (and there's a $10 bill attached to it). I can't believe I had a baby and still got them both to school EVERYDAY.
Over Memorial Day weekend I met mom and dad in Clarksville, TN (half way) to give them Chase and Skylar for a few weeks. A few short days later I left Travis' sister Alison with Britain and headed to the Virgin Islands with Travis and two other couples. We had an awesome villa on the island of St. James for six whole days, it was a beautiful place and I can't wait to go back. But back to reality! Once we came home I headed up to Illinois, with an infant in the back seat, for a couple days...and to releave my parents from the two oldest children. Let me tell you, that was the worst 8 hours of my life!! You try to make a 7 month old happy while driving down the highway at 80 miles an hours, not an easy thing to do, trust me.
Well, I've been back home for a week now and trying like crazy to get the kids back on a schedule and all my laundry done but I can say it was a great vacation. It was definitely better than Vegas, but not by much. What can I say, I don't get out much anymore. :)
Oh and Britain turned 8 months old yesterday and I can't believe it has gone by so fast. She has two teeth, sitting up on her own, pulled up in her crib today, eating finger foods and is trying to walk. Before I know it I'll be planning her first birthday party and hoping my folks can come down for it.

6 months old already
I can't believe it has been six months already. On one hand it seems longer than that but on the other time just won't slow down.
She had her six month well check yesterday and has gained nearly 3 pounds since her four month check for a total of 17 pounds and 6 ounces and is now 26 1/4 inches in length.
she received three shots, two in one ham hock and one in the other. She now has a temperature and is very fussy. If I remember correctly, my other two were the same way at their six month check. Those shots just wear them out for a couple days.
As for the rest of the crew, were all still here, Chase is getting ready to finish 5th grade, can't believe my son will be a middle schooler!! Skylar will be heading into the fourth grade next year but you wouldn't know it just by talking to her, you'd think she was already in middle school. Such the Diva!! Travis is getting ready for another round of Flight School to get another certification, this one is for the instruments I believe, whatever! And as for me, I'm living day to day...today I'm doing laundry, cleaning the house, dealing with a very fussy baby with a fever and she scratched my eye last night while we were playing so.....

Hoppy Easter

I took Britain to Olan Mills to get her first Easter pictures taken, I had a coupon and the Super Saver Plan so i got a great deal. It just so happened that the Easter Bunny was there and was taking pictures with the children. I was worried that she would be scared of the bunny but she was more fascinated with it. She did a beautiful job yesterday and like my other two gorgeous children she is very photogenic.

Happy St. Patrick's Day and Chase's big birthday
Happy St. Patrick's Day! Lately I have been really into all the Holiday's and really doing them up. I've gotten out the flag on the house, decorated the front door, put little decorations around the house with candy strewn everywhere (not good for the diet) and it's been a blast! Aren't my little Leprechaun's adorable?
So yesterday was Chase's 11th birthday. We had told him months ago when he started saying where he wanted his party that if he didn't have a birthday party that he could get something really nice for his birthday. I mean seriously, how much do parents spend on parties now a days...too much. Skylar's last party cost over $200 and then you still get them a present from mom and dad.
I wasn't raised with a party every year. I had one on the important milestone years and that was it. However, every year my parents would take each of us out to dinner on our birthday to where ever we wanted to go. Brad always choice sea food, Brian was always Italian if I remember correctly and until I was Chase's age I always picked McDonald's, don't ask. So Chase decided instead of a big party with all his friends he wanted a computer and dad got him one! I didn't even have a TV when I was his age. Man, what's he gonna want next year?

Almost 5 months old

Well, now another four weeks later and I have yet to post anything more. Big surprise, I've been a little busy. I am having such a great time with Britain. As a lot of you know I didn't get to stay home with Chase, mom watched him, and with Skylar I worked at night and tried to take care of two babies on only three or four hours of sleep. Needless to say I don't remember a whole lot from that time, good thing there's video and pics. But this time is different.
I get up, wake the two oldest, make lunches, make a bottle, wake the baby, feed the baby then we head off to school. Then it's play time for me and Britain. We play and sing and take baths and naps, it's a hoot! I love watching different things happen from week to week. Just last week she started wrinkling up her nose when she sees Bubba, Sissy or daddy walk in the room. Sometimes she sticks her cute little tongue out too. She's starting to laugh and I just love trying new foods with her and watching her facial expressions.
Just this morning I was feeding her one of her favs, bananas, and just as I poked a spoonful into that adorable little piehole she looked at me, grinned and sneezed...twice. Needless to say I need a shower. But it was great, she was smiles all morning even though it's cloudy dreary day.
Currently she is napping so I will go jump in the shower and wash off the bananas. Hopefully it won't take me a month to post another entry but who knows it probably will.

It's bee a long year so far
It has been a very long 7 or so weeks. My last entry was New Years Even and little did I know that in just 8 short hours I would get horrific news to start out the new year. At about 8 in the morning I heard the phone ring but was to sleepy to get up and answer it, I was still sleeping in the nursery at that time. Next thing I know it's about 10am and Travis comes in to check on us and I ask him if that was the phone that rang and not a dream. He said yes and I asked who it was. He said it was one of his boss' and I could tell by his tone and the look on his face..it wasn't good.
Our dear friend Tim Wilson had dead of a massive heart attack just a few short hours ago. To this day I hear a song on the radio that he had played air guitar and acted like a goober to and I just shake my head in total disbelief that he's gone. I can't image how his wife and two little girls are taking all of this.
The following week was Britain's first "Slept through the night" night and I moved back into my room with Travis. That was an adjustment after being in the living room and nursery for almost three months. It wasn't like this with the other two, they slept through the night by 6 weeks old. She's been growing like a weed and has started rice cereal in her bottle and some fruits every now and then. We just went to the doctor yesterday for our four month check up and we weigh in at 14 pounds 4 ounces and she's 25 inches long. That means she's only gained about a pound in the past two months, that seems a bit off since she doubled her weight in the first two months. We're going for some more pics today with bubba and sissy at Olan Mills. She has such a sweet disposition and personality that I don't think she's related to anyone in this family. She's a total morning person and wakes up squealing, laughing and talking up a storm. She's a real monkey.
The last few weeks have been filed with Travis going back to school this semester, Chase's basketball games and practices have started up as well as Skylar and her cheerleading. I've been the schools box top coordinator for the past two school years and every year we have a contest to see which class brings in the most wins a pizza party. So, yesterday I sat down, after collecting them all last week, and began to count all three huge bags of box tops. I counted for hours, they have expiration dates on them and they have to be bagged in baggies of 50. It is a time consuming thing but it's free money for the school and as many of you know the kids go to private school. I counted a total of 3142 and bagged them all up for mailing. I was counting stuff in my dreams last night I counted so much yesterday.
Talked to mom yesterday about her and dad coming down for a visit the first week or so of March so I've got to get the house cleaned up. The kids are soooo excited to see Nana and Papa, they haven't seen them since Britain was born back in October. Then the first week of April we're going up for Spring Break.
Well, it's time to go snuggle with my boo boo monkey. I've have truly enjoyed Britain, we have our routine and we play and sing and dance. We watch cartoons and even snuggle and nap together. I didn't get to do this with the other two, I had to go back to work. Hopefully I can have time to post another one sooner than I have this time.
